Vesta Sustainabile Living

Here at Vesta we are commited to sustainability..

What sustainability means to us.

To us, sustainable means not negavitely impacting the planet. Having practises that are able to continue without putting undue pressure on the earths resources.

Plastic free

We chose to not use any plastic in our products and only chose material that biodegrade. So far, there is no technology that can break plastic down, meaning that plastic exists on our earth forever. Eventually plastic is broken down into micro plastics, tiny microscopic pieces of plastic that exist every where. They have been found on top of everest, in the mariana trench, in the food we eat and even inside placentas. plastic is made from petro chemicals and human bodies, nor any natural body is meant to consume this. Becasue our products are made from organic cotton and other organic natural materials, they will degrade at the end of their life. Even the thread we use is made from organic cotton and will degrade.

Ethical

Small and local is ethcial and this is how we make most of our production decisons.

Our products are made locally by me, Bryony, founder of Vesta. Right now i make every single item branded Vesta. We dont use factorys abroad where we would struggle with visibility. we produce on demand, meaning when you order from us, i make the product. we dont have stock lying around that would end up in landfill.

we use local suppliers for our photography, our labelling and our creative input. we believe in investing locally to support those around us in our communities.

Zero pestacides

our products are made without pestacides. This is what the industry calls organic.

Pestacides are a real problem for soil health. Pestciades not only kill the bugs that want to feeed on cotton crops, they also remove and kill the microorganisims that exist in the soil This reduces fertility and the nutricinal make up ofthe food we eat.

not only that but they are extremely toxic to humans and animals. meaning people who work on the cotton farms can suffer with long term affects of the pestacides which can include neurological defects, hormone issues and cancer.

Pestacides can contaminate our water systems too, negatively impacting the quality of the water and the life that lives there..

Pestaices also kill our pollinators, which are crucial for food production and ecosystem health.

The truth is that is we dont have soil quality, we will not survive.
